Several terminals, several accounts

A terminal is one MetaTrader installation connected to an account. If you keep the same MetaTrader but switch accounts, it is still one terminal; if you have two MetaTraders open, that is two.

How many each plan gives

PlanTrading accounts
Shadow1
Copier2
Copier Pro3

If you need more than your plan includes, they are added at $9.99 a month each.

What having several is for

  • Live and demo at once. The same signal enters both and you compare execution without doubling the risk.
  • A prop firm account alongside your own. With its own risk and its own limits, which are usually stricter.
  • Two brokers. In case one does not carry the instrument, or just to spread.

Each terminal carries its own risk

The volume is worked out from the real balance of that account. 1% of a $500 account and 1% of a $10,000 one are not the same lot, and that is exactly right.

Which terminals each channel goes to

Today, all the ones you have connected. Choosing the destination channel by channel is still to come; in the meantime, if you want to try a channel on demo only, keep just the demo terminal connected while the test lasts.

Careful with two terminals on the same account

If two installations point at the same account number and both receive the same channel, the same trades are opened twice. See Duplicate trades.
