Maximum lot per order (funded accounts)

Some funded accounts will not let you open a position of any size: they cap the lot per order. If your risk calculation comes out above that cap, the broker rejects the order and the signal is lost.

The Maximum lot per order setting solves that: when one target's volume goes over the cap, Norte opens it as several orders instead of rejecting the signal.

An example

Your risk gives 1.20 lots for one target and your funded account allows 0.50 per order at most. With the cap set to 0.50, Norte opens:

0.50 + 0.50 + 0.20 = 1.20

Three orders, same entry, same stop, same target. When price reaches the target, all three close.

What does not change

Your position size is the same. Splitting spreads the volume across more orders; it does not open more risk. The sum is always exactly what a single order would have been, and the remainder goes in the last one: if 0.01 is left over, a 0.01 order is opened.

Your risk does not change either, nor your targets, nor the stop. Only how many tickets the same thing is spread across.

Where it is

In Settings → Risk, named «Maximum lot per order». It is an expert-level setting.

0 means no cap, and that is how it ships. If you trade on a normal broker account, leave it at 0: you do not need it, and one order pays the spread once while three pay it three times.

Two warnings

Do not confuse it with «Maximum lot per signal». That one caps the total volume and trims whatever is over. This one trims nothing: it splits.

If you set a very small cap, too many orders could be needed. Norte will not open more than 20 per target: if your volume needed more, the signal is not executed and you get a notice telling you so. That is not an arbitrary limit — a cap that needs 50 orders for one signal is almost always a number entered wrong.

Why we do not open several orders per target without a cap

Some copiers offer to open, say, five orders at each target even when there is no cap at all. The result is identical: five orders of 0.02 at the same target give the same as one of 0.10, with the same entry and the same close.

The difference is cost. Every order pays the spread when it opens, and on brokers that charge commission per ticket, the commission too. Five orders where one would do means paying five times for the same result.

That is why Norte opens one order per target and lets you decide the volume of each in Split between targets. And it splits only when there is a real cap to respect.
